Join Us in Celebrating Human Rights Day!
Mark the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with a unique community event hosted by the United Nations Association, Davis chapter. On Sunday, December 8, from 3–5 p.m. at International House Davis, we will present the 30 articles of the Declaration in 30 different languages, reflecting the diversity and shared values of our community.
Adopted in 1948 with the leadership of Eleanor Roosevelt, the Declaration remains a beacon of hope, affirming that all people, regardless of race, gender, or background, are entitled to dignity, equality, and a decent standard of living. This intimate gathering embodies Roosevelt’s belief that universal human rights begin "in small places, close to home." Experience this inspiring message as local readers bring the articles to life in 30 different languages with their English translations as well.
Informal discussions will follow the program, providing an opportunity to connect, reflect, and engage with others who value human rights.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated to support the chapter’s work. If you'd like to volunteer as a reader, please contact Verena Borton at verena.borton@unadavis.org.
Please RSVP below so we can have a printed name tag for you.
We look forward to seeing you there!
